CHILD GUARANTEE (for vulnerable children), what is in for migrant children?

Posted on 20/Feb/2020 by CHILD-UP team

The Feasibility Study for a Child Guarantee at the EU level (an initiative promoted by the European Parliament in 2015) has recently been published and presented in Brussels on 17th February.

Eurochild and Save the Children were partners, children with a migrant background are one of the target groups addressed.

The study addresses, in an integrated way, the areas of healthcare, education, early childhood education and care (ECEC), decent housing, and adequate nutrition. It contains extremely interesting data and considerations to which CHILD-UP could contribute.

For more information, download here the full intermediate report of the European Commission, published on January 2020.

CHILD-UP researches into the level of integration of migrant children in Europe and their social condition, with the primary aim of providing support for migrant children’s exercise of agency in changing their own conditions of integration and constructing hybrid identities.
