The University of Liège is a public university in the Belgian French-speaking community, and prides itself on its pluralistic vision and its pursuit of excellence in teaching, research, and innovation.
The Centre for Ethnic and Migration Studies (CEDEM) is an interfaculty research centre based in the Faculty of Social Sciences. With its international team, CEDEM has conducted pioneering empirically and theoretically grounded research on migration, racism, and ethnic relations from a multidisciplinary perspective. In addition to research, it organises and informs debates with academics, policymakers, and the general public on important topics related to ethnicity and migration in the Belgian, European and global contexts. The University of Liège and CEDEM bring to the CHILD UP project, expertise in migration studies and qualitative methods. The research team is adept at conducting fieldwork with young people and ‘vulnerable’ groups, and contribute an anthropological and sociological perspective.
