EU strategy on the rights of the child (2021-2024)

Posted on 20 October 2020 by CHILD-UP team

“The protection of children’s rights is an objective of the European Union, it is a guiding principle for the action of the EU institutions and bodies, and for the EU Member States.”

The European Commission is preparing a new strategy on the rights of the child, also launching a public consultation specifically designed to gather stakeholders’ views on this upcoming programme. The aims of this consultation are:

  • To give all citizens and organisations the opportunity to inform policy development;
  • To gather opinions on policy options and their possible impacts;
  • To identify opportunities and challenges in relation to the EU actions on children’s rights.

People can contribute to this consultation by filling in the online questionnaire available on the European Commission website.
In the same way, children can answer an online survey launched by Eurochild, UNICEF, Save the Children, World Vision International and Child Fund to share their point of view, their experiences and their priorities.

CHILD-UP researches into the level of integration of migrant children in Europe and their social condition, with the primary aim of providing support for migrant children’s exercise of agency in changing their own conditions of integration and constructing hybrid identities.
