Malmö University is an urban and vibrant university striving towards societal change. It was established in 1998 and has around 24 000 students and 2 000 employees divided between five faculties with varying numbers of departments and five university-wide research centres.

The CHILD-UP project has its base at the Department of Social Work at the Faculty of Health and Society and the university-wide research centre Malmö Institute for Studies of Migration, Diversity and Welfare (MIM). Collaborators are also based at the Department of Children, Youth and Society at the Faculty of Education and Society.

CHILD-UP researches into the level of integration of migrant children in Europe and their social condition, with the primary aim of providing support for migrant children’s exercise of agency in changing their own conditions of integration and constructing hybrid identities.
